The surgeon uses a scalpel to cut out a strip of the skin from the donor area, which is usually the back of the scalp. The incision made by the surgeon is generally many inches long.
The incision made at the donor site is then closed by the surgeon using sutures (stitches).
The surgeon then separates the skin strip removed into small sections with the help of a sharp surgical knife and a magnifying lens.
The individual hair follicles are then obtained from these sections and are implanted in the donor site carefully to achieve a natural-looking hair growth pattern.

Meet Dr. Sheena Arora

Dr. Sheena Arora is a renowned Dermatologist, Cosmetologist, and Dermatosurgeon with over 10 years of experience. She earned her MBBS from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana (BFUHS) in 2015 and MD Dermatology from Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore (RGUHS) in 2020.

She further pursued a a Fellowship in Photobiology from Kasturba Hospital, Manipal in 2021 and Fellowship in Dermatosurgery from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore (FRGUHS) in 2022.She later completed DNB – National Board of Examinations, New Delhi (June 2022)

He completed his MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum in 2017, followed by an MD in Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy from Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore (RGUHS) in 2022. He further specialized with a Fellowship in Hair Transplantation from Dermaclinix, Delhi.
